Browning T-Bolt 22lr Varmint
Browning has long been considered to be one of the world’s most reputable firearm designers and manufacturers, and to many the Browning T-Bolt exemplifies this. Everything about this rifle looks and feels the way a traditional bolt-action .22lr should look, from the solid and stylish walnut stock to the deep and glossy blue finish of the metalwork. As a varmint model this rifle features a wide, comfortable fore-end and a raised Monte Carlo comb, paired with a heavy 22″ barrel; and, as this is a premium Browning model, the trigger is gold-plated to add a bit of class.
However, despite it’s appearance, this isn’t a traditional .22lr bolt-action rifle; something which becomes apparent when you put your hand on the bolt handle. The Browning T-Bolt is a straight-pull design, using a cross-bolt that slides laterally to lock the action when closed. This makes it slightly faster to operate than a traditional turn-bolt, but the action is still stiff enough that you will not open or close it unintentionally.
Another neat feature of the T-Bolt design is the magazine. One quick press of the magazine release shoots it into your hand, revealing the innovative double-helix magazine design, shaped like a figure-8. This allows for a capacity of 10 rounds in a surprisingly small package, which the user will surely shoot off quickly with the straight-pull bolt action.
